InLab@HCC Mentors

No matter where you are in your entrepreneurial journey, you will benefit from an InLab Mentor. A mentor serves as a role model and is available to share his/her expertise and wisdom. Our highly engaged mentors have decades of experience and are here to support you through the entrepreneurial process.

In order to meet with a Mentor, you must complete the following steps: 

  1. Become a member of the InLab community
  2. Have attended a minimum of 5 InLab Workshops
  3. Engage (like, share or comment) with the InLab social media at least 5 times.
  4. Have a draft business model
  5. Have a landing page or prototype for testing

Andrew Bennett

Andy Bennett, PMP is a US Air Force Academy graduate who served in more than 36 countries around the world. As a Program Manager for government contracts totaling hundreds of millions of funded dollars, he oversaw all aspects of fulfillment, finance and contracting for his programs. His team provides a thorough contract compliance assessment of all active engagements.  Audit reviews may be focused on operations, contracting or financials, third-party validation of client adherence to terms and conditions as well as corporate best-practices. Clint Day

Clint serves as an advisor to NACCE and the KSU Shore center for entrepreneurship. He founded three companies in Florida and Georgia and began teaching/mentoring after selling his last business. Professionally qualified by the AACSB business school association, Clint earned a MBA and five certifications in entrepreneurship. He founded the entrepreneurship program at the State College of Florida. As a Vietnam veteran, he mentors vets through IVMF Syracuse and has taught under the Veterans Florida Entrepreneurship Program, at HCC Tampa.

Stephanie Heredia Taxes Tampa

Originally from San Francisco, CA, Stephanie started Taxes Tampa during her time as an undergraduate at The University of Tampa. She has worked with CPA firms for over 6 years and also spent 4 years auditing hospitals in the State of Florida. In addition to her time at UT, Stephanie obtained her Masters of Accountancy degree from USF-St Pete, with a focus track in Taxation. Stephanie specializes in business formations, tax preparation and tax planning. Outside of Taxes Tampa, Stephanie spends her time mentoring businesses at accelerators and incubators in Tampa and St. Pete, helping them start non-profits, scale their business, and reach their goals.

Chris Jones, Real Estate, Finance and Engineering

Jones Properties LLC was founded in 1995 to acquire investment real estate. Mr. Christopher Jones is the Managing Director and has been actively involved in the real estate business for over thirty years. Current holdings are located in Hillsborough & Pinellas County and include more than one hundred apartments plus office and retail centers. A staff of four handle the leasing, accounting, and maintenance for the combined 172,000 sq ft of properties.

Greta is an accomplished business professor, small business mentor, entrepreneur, and Veteran advocate.  She has been teaching business courses for over 13 years. She is also a fundraiser with experience in Annual Giving, Board Development and Strategic Planning. Greta is an entrepreneur - in - residence at InLab@HCC, and is a go-getter! She started her career in television broadcasting and after a some reflection, changed her mind and life and went back to school to complete her MBA. She is working on her Ph.D. in Business Strategy while she teaches full-time and helps local businesses. Biz Dynamics Group is her current business, where she connects business entrepreneurs with each other, to build upon their strengths.

Dennis Larue, Business Application Software Training

Currently as managing partner of The Denrue Group, LLC, Dennis has been involved in teaching QuickBooks and Excel for the past 20 years serving to help train the small business owners and their employees to better understand the use and implementation of these applications and their add-on Integrated Applications technologies. Dennis has achieved certification as an Advanced QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor and as a Microsoft Office Specialist (Excel). Dennis owned and operated a successful printing business in Clearwater for 17 years. After selling his printing business, he formed a computer/applications training business and a bookkeeping services business.

Alan Mustacchi, Financial Advisory

Mr. Mustacchi joined EROC Advisors, a lower middle market business advisory firm, as partner in November 2020.  Prior to joining EROC, Mr. Mustacchi was Executive Vice President of Capital Markets at GreenSky, Inc., a publicly traded financial technology platform for point-of-sale financing and loan servicing, where from November 2014 through March of 2020, he led the origination and structuring of funding partnerships for portfolios of consumer installment loans.  Before joining GreenSky, Mr. Mustacchi held leadership roles at Dresner Partners and Navigant Capital Advisors where he was focused on the middle market consumer products and specialty retail, financial services and industrials sectors.  Mr. Mustacchi is currently an independent director, chairman of the Audit and Finance Committee and a member of the Transaction Committee and Compensation Committee of Summer Infant, Inc., a publicly traded designer, marketer and distributor of branded juvenile health, safety and wellness products that are sold globally through leading international, national and independent retailers. Mr. Mustacchi has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and economics from New York University’s College of Business and Public Administration and a Master of Business Administration degree from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Kim currently serves on the Hillsborough Community College’s Business Advisory Board in Tampa, FL & is co-founder & co-chair of Beer & Bow Ties, an annual fundraising event for the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay benefiting their suicide prevention & awareness efforts.

Jeff has specialized in online marketing for over 20 years, providing solutions to numerous national companies including Bally Total Fitness, Flagstar Bank, Ford Motor Company, and General Motors, and is frequently sought as a guest speaker on internet trends and topics, Jeff holds a B.S. degree in Marketing from Michigan State University, and an M.S. from Walsh College where he spent five years as an Adjunct Professor.

Sam Summers is a fifth generation Floridian from Lake City, Florida. He graduated with a degree in Exercise Science from the University of North Florida. He is a multigeneration entrepreneur and takes pride in the growth and protection of local business. He is an Equity Partner at Sihle Insurance Group, one of the largest privately held independent insurance agencies in the state of Florida. He enjoys spending time with his wife Kelly, newborn daughter Charlie and his Labrador Reagan. When not working, you can find him hunting, fishing in Tampa Bay, and cheering on Tampa sports teams and the Gators.

Stephanie speaks on Being Resilient In Your Business and The Importance of a Brand. Stephanie has a strong desire to help purpose-driven aspiring entrepreneurs, which inspired her to write her groundbreaking book, Readi-Set Go!  A Simple Guide To Establishing A Successful Small Business. She is eager to share all she has learned over the years about business ownership and hopes to inspire others to follow their dreams. Stephanie is the Executive Director for the Stephanie A. Wynn Foundation Health and Healing from The Inside Out, a nonprofit charitable organization that works to remove barriers to healthcare treatment faced by underserved Black Women diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD), specifically Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease. Stephanie believes giving back to the less fortunate is a key component of success. Stephanie understands the challenges of starting a business and finds joy in assisting those who don’t know where to start or are afraid to take that important first step.
