Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC), a national trade association with thousands of members, provides electrical apprenticeships throughout Florida. The IEC-HCC partnership offers federal-and state-certified, Veterans Administration-approved apprenticeships in commercial electrician. These apprenticeship programs include training through a combination of classroom instruction (including theory, code, and controlled practical laboratory applications) and on-the-job training.
Students who complete the commercial electrician apprenticeship will be licensed journeyman electricians.
To be eligible for the IEC apprenticeship training program, you must be employed full-time with a State of Florida licensed electrical contractor in the trade.
