Three players from the Hillsborough Community College women’s basketball team have signed to four-year universities across the country. Sophomore players Nandi Jorden, RayGene Garner, and Jhade Hayes each signed with California State University-Bakersfield; Webber International and Clayton State University, respectively.
In total, these three players amassed more than $64,000 in scholarship funds to further their educational endeavors and basketball careers.

Hillsborough Community College’s Rachel Reid is this week's NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Reid, a sophomore from Tampa, Fla., averaged 25.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 5.7 steals in three games during the voting period. Hillsborough posted a 2-1 record beginning with an 85-55 win over Webber JV (November 19) in which Reid scored 30 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. After a 21-point effort in a loss to South Georgia Tech two days later, Reid capped her week by tallying 24 points, seven rebounds, three assists and four steals in a win over Miami Dade on November 23. For the week, Reid shot 48.4 percent (30-of-62) from the floor, 43.8 percent (7-of-16) from the three-point line and 66.7 percent (8-of-12) from the free throw line.

Hillsborough Community College’s Jacinda Myers-Sanders is this week's NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Myers-Sanders, a sophomore from Tampa, Fla., averaged 21.5 points and 11.0 rebounds in two games during the voting period. Myers-Sanders recorded a pair of double-doubles in the Hawks’ games against Santa Fe (February 6) and Central Florida (February 9). Although it came in a 78-56 loss to Santa Fe, Myers-Sanders tallied 24 points on 12-of-15 shooting and 11 rebounds. Against Central Florida, she was credited with 19 points and 11 boards. For the week, she also averaged 1.0 assist and 1.5 steals while shooting 70.4 percent (19-of-27) from the floor.

Women's point guard Yashira Delgado signed with Florida State. Delgado, a 5-foot-2 player from Kissimmee, led the National Junior College Athletic Association in assists with 10.

Hillsborough Community College’s Yashira Delgado is this week’s FCSAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Delgado, a native of Kissimmee, Fla., and a transfer from the University of Arkansas, averaged 23.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 12.7 assists and 8.7 steals in three games – all wins for the Hawks. Delgado’s outstanding week included Hillsborough’s first-ever quadruple double – 21 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and 12 steals vs. Grand Rapids (November 12). She almost achieved that feat on November 9 against Brevard, settling instead for a triple-double – 33 points, 9 rebounds, 14 assists and 10 steals. She capped off her week with a double-double vs. Owens – 17 points and 14 rebounds. For the week, Delgado shot 50.0 percent (26-of-52) from the floor and 72.7 percent (16-of-22) from the free throw line.
