Reviewing the Decade: An Orientation for First-Time Attendees

Edwin P. Olmo has spent 38 years in the field of higher education. He has served as a mentor, teacher, administrator and counselor to students at colleges and universities in New York and Florida. Of Puerto Rican descent, Mr. Olmo is originally from the Bronx N.Y., where he attended Cardinal Hayes High School and played baseball and football. He is a graduate of the State University of New York, College at New Paltz where he played baseball and received his degree in Sociology and Political Science with a minor in Latin American Studies.
Mr. Olmo is currently the Student Communication Officer at Hillsborough Community College and serves as a member of the Black Brown College Bound Planning Committee. He is currently living in the Tampa Bay area with his wife Carmen. They have five children and 4 grandchildren. Quote: “Never let any man or institution make you feel lesser then who you are.”
