Public Health

According to the American Public Health Association, Public Health promotes and protects the health of people and the communities where they live, learn, work and play. While a doctor treats people who are sick, those working in public health try to prevent people from getting sick or injured in the first place. Public Health workers also promote wellness by encouraging healthy behaviors.

Beginning in Fall 2016, HCC will be offering an Associate in Arts Degree Transfer Track in Public Health. This transfer track is for students who want to pursue a bachelor's degree in Public Health.

Fall Courses include:
HSC 2100 Health Education
HSC 2031 Sex, Health &Decision Making
HSC 2017 Careers in Public Health
PHC 2100 Intro to Public Health
