Prospective Students

Prospective Students need to do the following:

  • Apply to HCC and be admitted.
  • Apply to the Respiratory Care program, you can download the application online. Mail it or put it in the drop box in DSTU 119. The instructions are on the application.
  • Make an appointment with one of the academic counselors or advisors at the Dale Mabry Campus.
  • The program manager does not reject or accept students into the Respiratory Care program, nor do any of the program faculty. That is done through the Admissions Office.

Other requirements are successful completion of the prerequisites for admission. Preference is given to students with the highest grades in these courses listed next .

Shadowing
Shadowing is a mandatory component of the application process. During the interview with the program manager, affiliate hospital contacts and information will be given to arrange shadowing experience.

Background Check

Regarding Licensure: If you have a criminal record the state may refuse to grant you a license. You need to contact the Florida Board for Respiratory Care.Also HCC may deny your application to any health program including Respiratory Care.
