The information below is important for international students who have completed high school and/or post-secondary work OUTSIDE of the United States:
Documents that are issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a certified English translation.
Foreign transcript(s) in the original language and a certified English translation (if needed) from high school and from previously attended colleges and universities must be evaluated by an agency accredited by NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services at http://www.naces.org/).
A document-by-document evaluation is required for secondary/high school transcripts. A course-by-course evaluation is required for college and university transcripts. Students are responsible for all costs associated with obtaining translations and evaluations of their transcript(s).
Certain countries are exempt from the secondary school transcript evaluation requirement. Click here for a list of countries and specific document requirements.
We have listed several NACES credential evaluation services below. Additional recommended services can be found at http://www.naces.org/. The credential evaluation must be submitted directly to the Center for International Education by the service that performs the evaluation, and must include a copy of the original document, along with an English translation (if necessary).
