Paying For College

Tuition and fees are charged on a per-credit-hour basis and paid one semester at a time. There are several ways you can pay your tuition and fees.

1. Pay online through HawkNet/WebAdvisor

This is the easiest and fastest way to pay. Click HawkNet at the top of the screen. Select WebAdvisor from the menu and click on LOGIN.  Your password is your seven-digit student ID. User ID is your first initial of your first name and last name. There may a number at the end of your last name (ex: jsmith12).

2. Pay in-person at the campus Bursar offices (cashier)

At the Bursar, you may use personal checks, certified/cashier’s checks, cash, or credit cards/debit cards (MasterCard, VISA, American Express). Please note that personal checks must be in U.S. dollars drawn on a U.S. bank and include the check writer's full name, address, home and work phone, U.S. driver's license number and state/passport and date of birth. Personal checks drawn from a non-U.S. originating bank will NOT be accepted

3. Pay via international wire transfer (for tuition payments only)

Students can make payments from a bank account outside of the U.S. through Flywire. It is a safe, fast, easy and cost-effective way to pay for college from your home country and any bank anytime! Use of this service will generally result in a lower exchange rate and/or transaction cost for the student than payment by bank wire. Additionally, as the information collected from the student through this vendor interface, including the student's HCC account number, is transmitted electronically to HCC with the payment, it will result in a faster crediting of payments to the correct student account.

Click here to begin the payment process.

      • To get started, select "Hillsborough Community College" from the pull-down menu. Then select the country from which your funds will be coming from and the payment amount (in U.S. dollars) you wish to make to your student account.
      • The U.S. dollar amount will be converted into your home currency at preferential exchange rates--translating into savings for you!
      • After providing some basic information, you or your sponsor will receive detailed payment/bank wire instructions and visit your bank (via phone, online or in person) to send funds from your local bank to Flywire.
      • Flywire will then convert the funds to U.S. dollars and forward the U.S. dollar amount to HCC where it will be directly credited to your student billing account.
      • Through the Flywire student dashboard, you will be able to track where your payment is in the transfer process. You will receive an email confirmation when your payment is deposited into HCC's bank account.
      • A dedicated multilingual customer support team is available 24/7 via live chat, Skype, email and phone to answer any questions.

NOTE:

Due to F-1 visa travel restrictions, new international students generally register for their classes after the college payment due date (December 9, 2016 for the Spring 2017 term).  Please note that if you register after the official payment deadline of December 9, all tuition and fees are due by the end of business on the same day you register. If you do not pay on the day you register, you will be purged from your classes at the end of the day.

Do not use Flywire to make your tuition payment if the official HCC payment deadline is less than a week away or you have to pay the same day you register. Funds may take several days until they arrive at HCC and can be deposited into your student account! If the funds are not available on the day you register, you will be de-registered from your classes.

Also, DO NOT use Flywire to wire funds for living/personal expenses. Flywire should only be used to pay for your tuition. Living expenses must be wired into a personal bank account.

4. Tuition Installment Plans (TIPS)

HCC's tuition payment plan, TIPS, allows students to pay tuition monthly. The earlier you enroll in TIPS, the more payment options you have. Enroll in the TIPS plan or review the available payment plans hereYour user log in is your seven digit student ID number (without the initials) and your password is your six digit birth date with the forward slashes.

NOTE:  If you enroll in TIPS after 2:00pm on Friday, your enrollment may not be received in the Business Office until the following Monday. This may result in cancellation of your classes due to non-payment of fees.
