Application Materials

Applications will be available on this website beginning in January. Applications will not be accepted after May 17th. Applications are due to the Dean of Student Services' office at the Plant City Campus. Students must have completed 12 of 18 credit hours of general education requirements with a grade of "C" or greater prior to acceptance into the program. The 12 credit hours must include the Mathematics, Science, and English general education requirements. In addition to the 12 credit hours of general education prerequisites, students must also complete 3 credit hours of veterinary technology courses, including ATE 1001 (Introduction to Veterinary Technology), ATE 1741 (Veterinary Medical Terminology), and ATE 1501 (formerly ATE 2501) (Veterinary Professional Development/Ethics Seminar). Letters of acceptance will be sent to applicants after May 17th. Accepted applicants will also be required to attend a mandatory orientation, the time and place will be specified in the acceptance letter. Applicants who are not accepted are required to reapply for future consideration.

Veterinary Technology program includes the following courses:

· Animal Anatomy and Physiology
· Pharmacology
· Animal Clinical Pathology
· Avian and Exotic Pet Medicine
· Animal Emergency Medicine
· Animal Nursing
· Veterinary Work Experience

Completion of this degree allows and prepares students to sit for the Veterinary Technician National Exam and achieve the status of Certified Veterinary Technician.
