MGF 1106 - Topics in Mathematics

Professor Val Mohanakumar

This course is taught online except for two mandatory exams, a midterm and a final, which must be taken with the Professor on the Dale Mabry Campus during the dates/times listed in the syllabus.

Reliable computer and internet access is required.

Students must purchase access to online software: MyMathLab. Course content will be delivered through MyMathLab and MyHCC. Students are required to spend a minimum of 8 hours working each week on assignments within MyMathLab and MyHCC.

Important course information will be posted in MyHCC and sent to registered students’ official school email addresses a few days before classes begin; please check MyHCC or email Mrs. Mohanakumar before purchasing any materials for the course. Students should very carefully read everything that is posted in MyHCC and sent via email.

This section is best suited for self-disciplined students who like math and can work independently. In previous semesters, the students who successfully passed the course spent at least 10-20 hours per week on the material. If you cannot make that time commitment, then this is probably not the course for you.

Students must register for MyMathLab by the date specified on the schedule in order to avoid being administratively withdrawn without refund for non-participation (WN). No one receiving a WN will be reinstated without documented extenuating circumstances for their failure to comply.
