HOPE Scholars

HOPE Scholars is a program designed to improve retention, graduation and the four year college transfer rate of African American and Hispanic males. Scholars in the program are provided tutorial services and attend workshops, seminars, and four-year college or university tours. Scholars also benefit from faculty mentoring and the opportunity to build relationships beyond their classrooms.

Program Highlights:  
Initially established on the Dale Mabry & Ybor City Campuses
30 young men chosen as the initial cohort
23 diverse faculty members serve as mentors

Four Year College Transfer Opportunities

If you are an African American or Hispanic male who is currently enrolled in at least 9 credit hours at HCC, has completed at least 9 credit hours at HCC, and maintains a GPA of at least 2.5, we encourage you to consider this exciting opportunity.
