Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Hillsborough Community College supports Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) in April.  HCC observes SAAM by focusing on creating the appropriate culture to eliminate sexual assault in our college community and accepting a personal commitment from all students, faculty and staff to value this important national initiative. We all have a part in combating sexual assault and this month offers an excellent opportunity to begin our focus in protecting our college community.

The Equity and Diversity/Title IX Office is responsible for the oversight of the college’s sexual assault policy and is committed to the prevention of sexual assault. HCC has implemented a comprehensive Sexual Misconduct Policy to ensure the safety, dignity and well-being of all students, faculty and staff.  We commend HCC campuses that provided sexual assault awareness programs, in collaboration with our office, to maintain a positive environment that reinforces prevention, response and accountability.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement information on sexual offenders and sexual predators is available here.

Commit to Title IX (C2IX).  Protect Yourself. Report It.
