Hillsborough Community College Student Board of Trustee Member

Hillsborough Community College is seeking interested students to apply for the first student representative on the HCC District Board of Trustees. As a student trustee, you will be representing the voices of HCC’s over 44,000 and provide the District Board of Trustees input on behalf of your fellow students.

The student trustee will:

Represent the student body at District Board of Trustees meeting, college and community events as availableMaintain a student trustee email account

  • Have an opportunity to meet with key community and state leaders
  • Participate in required new District Board of Trustees orientations
  • Participate in community and college events as requested by the board (schedule permitting)

To be eligible to serve as a Student Trustee you must:

  • Have 3.00 or greater Cumulative GPA (All college courses included)
  • Have completed a minimum of 24 credits with at least 12 completed at HCC
  • Register for a minimum of nine credits for the Fall 2017 semester
  • Be enrolled in nine or more credits for Spring 2018 semester
  • Have the time to serve as the Student Trustee for the 2017-2018 academic year
  • Be available to begin the term of service on July 1, 2017

For your service, the Student Trustee will:

  • Receive a scholarship for a maximum of 12 credits per Fall and Spring Semester
  • Gain an understanding of the legislative process
  • Acquire experience working on a governmental board
  • Obtain direct assistance with academic planning and advising
  • Participate in Priority Registration
