Available Tests

CPT/PERT (Common Placement Tests)—New, transfer or returning students may be required or eligible to take part or all of the placement tests. A PERT study guide is available.

HCC now offers remote PERT exams! To sign-up for a PERT exam, please contact your campus Advising Office via email below, and we will provide instructions to get you started. Please email from your Hawkmail account and include your HCC student ID number.

To complete a remote PERT exam, you will need the following:

• A laptop or desktop with webcam and Internet access
• Your Student ID number and Hawkmail address for login purposes
• A current photo ID available for identification and verification purposes at the time of testing.
• A quiet, distraction-free testing location

CLEP (College Level Examination Program)—This test provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate prior learning and earn college credit toward general education and elective requirements.

Faculty Exams—With instructor permission, students may make up tests they missed in class. See your instructor or Test Center for more information.

LOEP Exam—This is for non-native speakers of English who are interested in the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program.
