Richard Lozada serves as the Manager of the Recruitment and Screening Section for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. He is responsible for directing all recruitment and background investigative programs for the 7th largest Sheriff's Office in the U.S.  Previously, he served for 30 years in law enforcement where he held a number of progressively responsible investigative and management positions. He was appointed Director, Foreign Operations and served as the Acting Assistant Commissioner, U.S. Customs Service Headquarters, Washington D.C. immediately following the attacks of September 11th. In that capacity, he directed all investigative and intelligence operations for 400 personnel assigned to 35 overseas offices and Interpol.  He also served as a supervisor with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Federal Air Marshal Service directing complex criminal investigations involving threats to aviation security.  He has received numerous awards and commendations for investigative and management accomplishments during his career.   

Richard Lozada has a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from Nova Southeastern University and an additional Master's in Management. He has also completed executive development programs at Columbia University and the Senior Executive Fellows Program at Harvard University, JFK School of Government.  Mr. Lozada serves on the Executive Board of Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate High School in Tampa.
