Criminal Justice

The Criminology and Criminal Justice Studies Program is an undergraduate college program at Hillsborough Community College in which students can earn an Associate in Science Degree in Criminal Justice, an Associate in Arts Degree with a Criminology Pathway, and College Credit Certificates in Crime Scene, Homeland Security, and Criminal Justice Technology. 

Our graduates are preparing for careers in law enforcement, corrections, probation, the court system, and law.   The Criminology and Criminal Justice Studies Program offers students a broad background in history, philosophy, organization, management and operation of the criminal justice system. This Program can be the start of a career in law enforcement, corrections, as well as the court system. Upon completion, this degree opens up entry-level, non-sworn positions in local, state, and federal agencies, such as Juvenile Justice, Private Security, Private Investigation, Loss Prevention, Law Enforcement, Corrections, Probation and Parole, Detention Centers, Community-based Intervention Programs, and Crime Scene Technician and  can be the first step toward a career in sworn law enforcement, corrections, and probation as well as a legal or public service career.

The Criminology and Criminal Justice Studies Program is primarily located at Ybor  City Campus and is located in the heart of Tampa's Historic Latin Quarter.  The campus is just minutes away from downtown Tampa and easily accessible to all sections of the county via Interstate 4, State Road 60, and the Lee Roy Selmon Crosstown Expressway.   We also offer classes at Brandon Campus, Dale Mabry Campus, and SouthShore Campus.
