Collegiate 100

Our Mission

Collegiate 100® (C100) is a college-wide initiative open to all students at Hillsborough Community College. The mission of C100 and 100 BMTB is to improve the quality of life within our communities and enhance educational and economic opportunities through mentoring and community service.

The Collegiate 100 program affords students the ability to engage in three primary areas:

Leadership
C100 students have the opportunity to participate in several leadership development activities. The annual Collegiate 100 Leadership Retreat is an intensive two-day event focusing on communication skills, team building, leadership skills and professionalism. C100 students meet monthly for leadership seminars covering multiple topics such as business etiquette, internships, decision-making, social justice issues and problem-solving.

Campus/Community Service
The C100 program has an important role to play on the college campus. Carrying out that role requires a responsible, productive and cooperative relationship with the local chapter of 100 Black Men of Tampa Bay, Inc. Our active student organization engages with the community, and examples of service include Black History Month programs, supporting Student Government Association events, and participating as an American Heart Association Heart Walk team.

Mentoring the 100 Way
The HCC Collegiate 100 mentors and the 100 Black Men of Tampa Bay, Inc. support the development of social, emotional and educational needs of college students who can benefit from positive role models. Annually, C100 students receive innovative online training through the Mentoring the 100 Way sponsored by the 100 Black Men of America, Inc. Supporting the national mentoring slogan, “what they see is what they’ll be,” the HCC chapter mentors local youth encouraging them to complete their education.

Eligibility requirements include:

  • Currently enrolled at HCC
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
