Program Admission Deadlines, Requirements and Application
The following programs require an additional Health Science application and fees. Carefully review program pre-requisite, documentation requirements, and application deadlinesbefore submitting your Health Sciences Application. You must have your HC Login you received after being accepted via the HC General Application to submit.

Completion of ALL prerequisite coursework before or by the application deadline (30 credits). See Program Details for the list of prerequisite courses. (Note: Math and Science prerequisites must be retaken if older than 7 years before the deadline.)
Minimum prerequisite GPA of 2.8.

Before completing the Computed Tomography Program Application be prepared to upload the following:
Copy of valid National Certification from the ARRT or NMCTB (Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, and/or Radiation Therapy).
Copy of valid Florida Certified Radiologic Technologist certification/license
Copy of valid CPR certification by the American Heart Association

English requirement:Students must achieve a minimum score on a placement test (SAT, ACT, or PERT) or have completed previous college-level coursework. Placement tests must have been taken within the last two years. For coursework equivalency, a referral to take a placement test, or to determine score cut-offs, contact an HC Academic Advisor at any campus.
Math Requirement: Students must complete the first level of preparatory math with a course (MAT 0018 or higher) or a placement test.
The minimum required test scores are as follows: SAT (Verbal and Math – 24), ACT (Reading – 19, English – 17, Math – 19), PERT (Reading – 106, Writing – 103, Math – 96)
If a college-level math course (STA 2023, MAC 1105, MGF 1130, MGF 1131, MAT 1033, etc.) has already been completed, the placement test will not be required.
Must be a high school graduate and 18 years old before the first day of classes.

Medical Laboratory Science - Advanced Technical Certificate (ATC)

Must provide, by nursing program orientation, a copy of a valid unencumbered,Florida LPN license and proof of CPR: Basic Life Support for the Professional Rescuer course from an agency that provides a two (2) year certification such as the American Heart Association BCLS-C course.

Minimum prerequisite GPA of 2.8 required to be considered. It does not guarantee admission.
TEAS test scores: Students must have ATI TEAS version 7 to apply to the Program.
Beginning in January 2026, the TEAS test will only be accepted when taken at a live proctored testing site (in-person testing). Online/remote testing is no longer accepted.
Students are allowed three (3) attempts per calendar year (January through December) to achieve a passing score of 60 or higher. If a student needs to retake the test, a 30-day waiting period must be observed before the next attempt.
The scores will not be accepted if the attempts are less than 30 days, and the student will have to wait until the following year to reset the TEAS test attempts.
Passing the test or receiving a higher score will not guarantee admission, but not passing (below 60) or providing a copy of the test scores with the application means that the application will not be considered for admission.
Students will be ranked by their prerequisite GPA, and the cumulative GPA will be used as a tiebreaker. The higher your prerequisite GPA, the better your chances of admission.
The Nursing Department will offer several Program Information Sessions/Q&As at different campuses during the year, providing essential program information. Attendance is not a requirement, but it is strongly recommended. Refer to the Nursing Program page for the scheduled dates during the academic year.

Completion of the EMT program - Provide an official transcript showing successful completion of the EMT program is required. If the institution where the EMT program was completed does not provide students with an official transcript, a diploma/certificate showing successful completion and the hours/duration of the program will be accepted as proof of completion.
Minimum EMT program GPA and overall GPA of 2.0 (If your overall GPA is below 2.0, meet with an academic advisor to work on raising your GPA before applying to the program).

Copy of Florida EMT license/certification card
If you work with any of the below community of interest employers, you must submit an employment verification letter or email from the supervisor or human resources confirming full-time employment as an EMT or firefighter. Job offers or hiring letter/emails are not accepted.
