PURPOSE

This rule establishes College policy regarding direct-support organizations.

RULE

The Hillsborough Community College Foundation, Inc., is a non-profit Florida corporation organized and operated exclusively to receive, hold, invest and administer property and to make expenditures to or for the benefit of Hillsborough Community College (HCC). The Foundation operates to support HCC and its mission. The President is responsible for oversight of all fund-raising activities of the College including those of the Foundation. The Board of Trustees certifies annually that the Hillsborough Community College Foundation, Inc., is operating in a manner consistent with the goals of HCC and in the best interest of the state.

The Hillsborough Community College Foundation, Inc., is permitted to use the College’s property, facilities and personal services through adherence to the College’s administrative rules and procedures for Board-approved public purposes consistent with the mission, vision and values of the College.

The Hillsborough Community College Foundation, Inc. will provide for and submit an annual audit report of its financial accounts to the Auditor General, the State Board of Education and the District Board of Trustees for review. Annually, before the new fiscal year, the President will provide for Board review and approval, the Foundation’s anticipated use of College resources for the upcoming fiscal year.
