Steps | Applying for Financial Aid |

Request a FSA ID by accessing www.fafsa.gov (top of page) to create your account.

Apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov as early as October 1.

3. | Follow up with your Financial Aid Office within 7 to 10 business days after submission of your FAFSA to check aid eligibility and determine what documents need to be submitted. **You can also check what documents are needed by logging in to WebAdvisor via the MyHCC Portal. Search under Communication and click “My Documents” |
4. | Download, Complete, Sign, and Submit All Required Institutional Financial Aid Documents. Forms may be downloaded & submitted online on our Financial Aid Forms web page. Select the academic year you are seeking financial aid assistance. |

Submit transcripts to Admissions & Registration Office.

6. | Check Your Status of financial aid award by logging in to WebAdvisor via the MyHCC Portal. Search under Financial Aid and click “Financial Aid Award Letter” or “Financial aid status by term.” |
7. | Select Your Refund Preference on the BankMobile website in order to receive your financial aid refund. Tuition and any book charges will be deducted from your financial aid award for the term after the drop/add period is over and if any funds remain, a refund will be disbursed to you based on your refund |

After your Financial Aid file is complete and if you are eligible, loans will be offered to you through your Hawknet account. Please visit WebAdvisor Accept or Reject My Financial Aid

Complete the Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note (MPN) online.

3. | IF YOU ARE A FIRST TIME BORROWER, there is a 31 day wait from the start of classes before loan funds are disburse ti the college. You can expect to receive your refund, if applicable, within 45 days after the start of class. This wait period applies only to the first term of attendance at HCC. |
