HOPE Scholars

Committed to closing achievement gaps between its male learners, HCC continues to find new ways to provide sustained support to underserved students. The HOPE Scholars Initiative focuses on degree completion by improving persistence, retention and upper-division transfer rates among African American and Latino male students in the program. Through academic, personal and motivational support, students are prepared to attain high achievement in academic pursuits, career aspirations and quality of life.

Students must meet the following criteria to apply:

  • Full-time student at HCC.
  • Complete FAFSA Application.
  • Currently enrolled in at least nine hours.
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA.
  • Recommendation from an HCC faculty or staff member.
