Accreditation Paramedic CCC

Under the auspices of the Emergency Medical Services program, students first become certified as an emergency medical technician and secondly as a paramedic. Graduates of the EMT and paramedic program earn a college credit certificate. Those who wish to enhance their credentials can pursue an Associate in Science Degree in Emergency Medical Services Associate Programs.

Hillsborough Community College's Paramedic Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).

HCC EMS Programs Graduation and Certificate Exam Results

Graduation Rate EMT Certificate Program:

  • 2015 297/399 = 75%
  • 2016 354/435 = 81% 
  • 2017 293/386 = 76%

NREMT Certificate Exam Pass Rate for HCC EMT Graduates:

  • 2015 First Attempt = 69% Cumulative Pass within three attempts: 84%

  • 2017 First Attempt = 75% Cumulative Pass within three attempts: 86%

Graduation Rate for Admitted Paramedic Certificate Program Students:

Pass rates for the Florida State Paramedic Exam:

Positive Placement Rate among Paramedic Graduates

The positive placement rate defined by CAAHEP based on the graduates of the paramedic program who are reporting working in either a full time or part-time position as a paramedic within twelve months of graduation, continuing their education or serving in the military, as listed below:
