Radiation Therapy Mission, Goals and SLO

Mission:
The mission of Hillsborough Community College’s Radiation Therapy Program is to prepare and empower graduates with a strong academic, clinical, and professional foundation, to meet the needs of patients and the community as entry-level radiation therapists.

Goals and Student Learning Outcomes (SLO):

Goal 1: Students will demonstrate competent clinical skills
Student Learning Outcome:

1. Students demonstrate the ability to accurately image patients
2. Students demonstrate competent treatment setup techniques
3. Students demonstrate proficiency in patient care skills

Goal 2: Students/Graduates will demonstrate effective critical thinking skills
Student Learning Outcome:

1. Students recognize and resolve discrepancies in patient treatment
2. Students recognize and interpret all CT and patient setup procedures prior to scanning

Goal 3: Students will be effective communicators

1. Students effectively communicate with patients
2. Students effectively communicate with clinical staff
