Growing with CROP

CROP serves students in grades 6-12 who are first generation and eligible for free or reduced lunch. The students receive college counseling, as well as information about admission requirements, scholarships and various financial aid programs. Learn more about the middle school and high school components below.

Middle School Component

CROP works with 6th - 8th grade students in all Hillsborough County middle schools to help prepare them for high school.

Services include:

  • Intensive Mathematics (pre-algebra and algebra)
  • Academic Instruction and tutoring
  • Applications in science
  • Computer Applications
  • Cultural/Educational Activities
  • ​​​​​​​Intensive Reading and Writing

High School Component

CROP serves 9th – 12th grade students in Hillsborough County who want to attend college.

Services include: 

  • study/test taking skills and time management
  • career exploration
  • academic advising/course selection
  • college planning and placement assistance
  • SAT/ACT registration and waivers
  • financial aid and scholarship workshops
  • cultural field trips
  • parent college preparation workshop
  • campus visits to colleges and universities throughout Florida
